Twenty hearty souls ventured out to The Garrison in Garrison, NY on December
14, 2025, following the morning’s snowfall to attend the Holiday Party of the Hudson
Valley Chapter. This year’s event, like those of the recent past, was a “toy raiser” for the
U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots. Colonel James Maxwell was on hand to
receive the tos on behalf of the Corps. He provided the group with detailed information
regarding the program: the number of children served, the number of toys collected, and
the massive logistics of coordinating this all. We learned that storage of the toys alone
requires a 10,000 square foot facility. In addition to Colonel Maxwell, two other retired
Marine Colonels, who happen to be FCA members in our area, were also present.
Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate, and no Ferraris were driven to the
event. Four inches of snow and summer tires are not a particularly good combination.
The Chapter’s next event, the annual Enzo Ferrari Birthday Party, was
announced and will be held, of course, at Enzo’s Restaurant in Mamaroneck, NY. Our
twice-monthly cars and coffee gatherings will resume in April with events in
Poughkeepsie and North Salem, NY.
